Project objectives

The main objectives of the INTREF project can be listed as follows;

1- Determining the needs and requirements to solve the social adaptation problems of immigrant students. Increasing their academic success, drawing the attention of public and civil society organizations to determine international standards for the integration of children and presenting them to the relevant ministries. 2- Ensuring the development of innovative education programs (education modules, workshops, seminars, online education videos) taking into account the problems, needs and demands determined within the scope of the project. 3- Increasing the skills and competencies of teachers and NGOs working with immigrant students and relevant public institutions. 4- Determining common methods and techniques in the field of education services for immigrant students in partner countries. 5- Ensuring the sharing of experience and good practices among partner countries, especially Turkey, in the services provided to immigrant students for better education and social adaptation. 6- Writing international books and articles from the data collected through the INTREF Project and publishing these scientific articles in prestigious journals with international references. In addition, organizing international seminars and meetings during the project.

Secondary objectives of the INTREF project are:

1- To provide meaningful and long-term collaborations between schools and universities, government and civil society organizations in Turkey. 2- To contribute to the better integration of immigrant students into the society they live in socially and culturally, and to increase their academic success economically and psychologically. 3- To contribute to the solution of legal, educational, psychological, security and other problems of immigrant students. 4- To create awareness among immigrant students. 5- To provide concrete, practical and accessible suggestions to policy makers regarding the educational needs of students. The INTREF project aims to contribute to the social inclusion of a disadvantaged group, children of refugees and immigrants. Innovative learning tools and creative activities will help. INTREF prioritizes integration and the development of key competencies through successful school adaptation. Educational innovations as well as psychological support materials and digital tools. The project also includes productive and purposeful leisure time activities for students with the participation of both international and local people. Therefore, we expect a significant contribution to the integration of immigrant children, the harmony between locals and foreigners, and the absence of discrimination, with a widespread effect in schools and then in all layers of society.

Creating synergy between universities and especially school education organizations:

– The research results of the Research Review on factors facilitating migration processes in Turkey and EU countries, including the exchange of INTREF best practices and measurable information will be transferred to other products and used as products. – The exchange of good experiences and best practices in services provided to migrants and refugees between partner countries will be a supporting database for the preparation of the INTREF research report. The project: – An electronic platform will be created for the sharing and exchange of experiences between professionals at national and international levels. It will also provide access to innovative and interpersonal learning opportunities and solutions in the field of migration and support a multi-stakeholder approach in education. – Refugee students and their families will be encouraged to be active in all levels of social life by participating in culturally planned recreational activities. Impact: – sensitize professionals to the main trends of integration and migration with facts and figures after acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills, – school teachers will be better prepared to work with refugees, migrants and immigrant students, – development of innovative, modern and freely accessible educational materials at national and international level with project partners and other EU countries will be ensured, – use of international experience, regional and national support for intersectoral cooperation, Interaction of transnational joint expert networks active in relevant fields will be strengthened. Project activities

  • Development of Testing Materials and translation of the effects of the project into a booklet in 5 languages
  • Preparation of training modules in 5 languages (5 languages = Turkish, English, German, Slovenian and Slovak)
  • 5 International meetings (Opening and Closing meeting in Düzce, 3 meetings in other countries)
  • A supportive curriculum for teachers and an e-learning platform for use in schools will be created. E-learning Platform Preparation (5 languages and online certificate program)
  • Providing training to the target audience in the context of training modules (in 4 countries and converting these trainings into a common booklet in 5 languages)
  • Social interaction will be increased on the online learning platform with videos and applications planned for immigrants.
  • Organizing a total of 7 multiplier effect meetings in Turkey and other countries (project promotion and dissemination with broad participation of relevant institutions and organizations)
